About BioHermes
BioHermes is a pioneering high-tech enterprise specializing in in vitro diagnostic (IVD) solutions, committed to advancing global healthcare through innovation and precision diagnostics. Founded by a team of highly experienced scientists trained in the United States, BioHermes has quickly established itself as a respected leader in the IVD industry, known for its cutting-edge technologies and strong focus on patient-centered solutions.
The history of BioHermes can be traced back to 2006, when the company was first established with a vision to improve maternal and prenatal care. In its early years, BioHermes concentrated on the production of obstetric diagnostic products such as fetal fibronectin (fFN) and insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1 (IGFBP-1) tests. These products played an important role in identifying risks related to preterm labor and monitoring maternal health, contributing to safer pregnancies and healthier outcomes for mothers and newborns.
A significant turning point in the company’s history came in 2013 when BioHermes successfully acquired an innovative HbA1c testing technology from the U.S.-based Scripps Laboratories — one of the world’s most prestigious research institutions. This strategic acquisition enabled BioHermes to enhance its technological capabilities and broaden its product portfolio, positioning the company as a key player in the field of diabetes management.
Leveraging this cutting-edge technology, BioHermes went on to develop a range of advanced HbA1c testing systems, including the A1C EZ 2.0, GluCoA1c, A1Cchek Pro, and A1Cchek Express. These products have revolutionized the way HbA1c testing is performed, making it faster, more affordable, and accessible beyond traditional laboratory settings. With their compact design, high accuracy, and ease of use, these analyzers enable healthcare professionals and patients alike to monitor HbA1c levels frequently and conveniently at the point of care.
Today, BioHermes products are sold in over 100 countries and regions worldwide, gaining widespread trust and recognition from hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and healthcare providers. The company’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality diagnostic solutions has made it a preferred partner for medical institutions globally, especially in the management of chronic diseases like diabetes.
In addition to its flagship HbA1c products, BioHermes has also expanded its product lines to include SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic kits (antigen, antibody, and neutralizing antibody tests), blood glucose meters, and a range of maternal health diagnostic tools. Each product reflects the company’s mission to improve clinical decision-making and enhance patient care through accessible, affordable, and innovative diagnostic technologies.
BioHermes continues to invest heavily in research and development, collaborating with leading international research organizations and healthcare institutions to stay at the forefront of IVD innovation. The company operates under strict quality standards, with certifications including ISO 13485, CE, and FDA approvals, ensuring that its products consistently meet the highest regulatory and safety requirements.
With headquarters in Wuxi, Jiangsu, China, and a global distribution network, BioHermes is poised to further expand its market presence and contribute to better healthcare outcomes worldwide.
