About Vircle Vircle (short for Visible Circle) is Malaysia's 1st Family Finance App enabling parents to provide their children a safe landing into the world of cashless & digital banking. Built around the concept of parental control and oversight and financial learning, we believe every child should learn the basics of money before heading out to the real adult world. We also operate the 1st Child Safe Visa prepaid card in Malaysia. Job Description Do you love building Fintech products? Have experience managing development in a rapid growth environment? Vircle is looking for a Head of Engineering to help take our product to the next level and build our world-class engineering team. A hands-on tech leader who are willing to get his hands dirty and ware different hats to get things done You will be responsible for shaping the product vision and bringing this to life. You’ll lead the charge on engineering best practices, processes, solution architecture, technical hires, development languages and frameworks. You will build digital experiences which shape how our customers interact with our products and services on a daily basis. You Will - Partner closely with the founders to define your vision and roadmap by thoroughly understanding your customers’ needs - Manage subcontractor engineering activities - Build products, systems, and services that have an immediate impact on our customers - Build a world-class team by hiring exceptional talent, coaching and developing engineers, cultivating pragmatic engineering decision-making, and leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar - Lead and participate in critical technical, design, product and partnership discussions - Foster ownership, inclusiveness, accountability, pragmatism, and urgency in the team - Develop security strategies, processes, controls on code and data access Strategize & execute policies on how code should written, tested and checked in with traceability. - Actively lead the Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, within cross-functional teams. - Able to define gaps in the technology, security, processes and tools and make decisions on how to address them. - Lead all tech discussions with external parties. Technologies We Use - Node.js, Java (core banking layer), Angular (bo) & Ionic (app) -> moving to React Native - We are fully deployed on serverless architeture on AWS, so you need to be familiar with Lamda - We are heavy on Dynamo, RDS, Kafka (confluent) Oher experience Experience which helps: - Experience with CI CD tools like Jenkins etc. - Experience with Cloud Technology like AWS, Ali Cloud, GCP etc - Experience with Docker, Lamda, Kubernetes etc - Experience and knowledge of Firebase Store, Firebase Notifications etc. - Experience in using Spring framework like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud etc - Working with ELK Stack
