- Design realistic military/tactical concepts for AAA FPS titles, covering hard surface/gun design, operators, skins, and NPCs. - Produce full character concept sheets including front/back/side orthographic views, detail callouts, color variants, and material annotations. - Develop visual exploration sketches and mood boards during early ideation phases to align on creative direction before full production. - Iterate rapidly on designs based on Art Director feedback, maintaining quality and consistency through multiple review cycles. - Collaborate closely with 3D artists to ensure concepts are production-friendly — topology-aware design, realistic proportions, and clear material/surface definitions. - Maintain visual consistency across character lineups and seasonal content drops to ensure cohesive franchise identity. - Leverage AI tools (Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI) for rapid visual exploration and reference generation. - Apply hand-painted refinement on top of AI-generated exploration to bring concepts to full production quality.
- 5+ years of professional experience in 2D concept design for games. - At least 1 shipped AAA title in the FPS/TPS/military genre (verifiable in game credits). - Professional portfolio demonstrating realistic character design (ArtStation or equivalent). - Proficiency in Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint. - Strong understanding of realistic human anatomy, military gear, tactical equipment, and fabric/material rendering. - Ability to produce clean linework and painterly styles as required by project art direction. - Understanding of how 2D designs translate to 3D production constraints (topology, rigging, material separation). - Ability to interpret briefs and develop original concepts that fit within established franchise art direction. - Ability to absorb high-level creative direction from Art Directors and translate it into polished production deliverables. - Ability to read and write in English for daily communication with international teams and clients.
