DataOn was founded by Gordon Enns and Casey Kim in early 1999 in the Cayman Islands. Later that year, the company moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where it was incorporated as PT. Indodev Niaga Internet. The name “DataOn” stands for “Data Online,” reflecting the founders’ belief that web-based solutions were the future. Initially, the company focused on Corporate & Information Portals and Content Management systems.
