AI Productivity, AI Productivity
When people think of AI, most picture chatbots, writing assistants, or image generators. Yet one fast-growing branch of AI sits somewhere few people are looking: the software that controls unmanned aerial vehicles. Today, most drone manufacturers write their own proprietary software, so adding new features or getting different types of devices to work together takes a lot of time. Osiris AI is one of the companies trying to tackle this problem with an approach smartphone users will recognize: a shared operating system plus an app store for adding capabilities as needed. In this article, Aniday draws on Osiris AI's official website, along with interviews and Ukrainian tech news coverage, to explain how the tool works, who it's for, and what to keep in mind.
Osiris AI is a Ukrainian technology company that develops OsirisOS, which its official website describes as a "unified drone operating system and toolkit for unmanned vehicles." According to Osiris AI, OsirisOS combines a flight controller with an operating system that runs on the drone's onboard mission computer. Users can install, manage, and run apps for specific missions instead of reprogramming the entire software stack for each type of device.

In an interview with Scroll.media, CEO Roman Onyshchenko summed up the idea behind the product: "You buy the hardware, install the operating system, and you get a toolkit and ready-made mission scenarios to work with."
Beyond the operating system, Osiris AI offers several companion products: the AI Terminal, an onboard AI module for drones; a drone defense Simulator; a Training Bundle for drone operators; a field-testing Proving Ground; and an Ecosystem Store for hardware components. Most of these products are aimed at the defense and security sector. This reflects the context of Ukraine, where drone technology has been tested and deployed at large scale in recent years.
Drone and unmanned vehicle manufacturers: Rather than building software from scratch, companies can integrate OsirisOS into their products and focus on hardware. According to TechUkraine, two Ukrainian drone manufacturers began testing the operating system in late 2025.

Modular app architecture: Install only what a mission requires. The OSIRIS APP STORE currently lists modules such as Drone Vision, Mission Planner, Fail Safes, Object Detection, Payload Manager, and Flight Recording.
Because Osiris AI is an enterprise product, you can't simply download and try it like consumer AI apps. The process below is based on the guidance on the official website:
Step 1: Go to osirisai.com, select Product Overview to see details for each product, then click Request a demo or Contact.

Step 2: Work with the Osiris AI team to decide on the device types, sensors, and app modules you need. Pricing and licensing terms are discussed at this stage.
Step 3 - Install: Flash OsirisOS onto the drone's mission computer.
Start with a small pilot project: Request a demo on a single device type before rolling it out across your entire drone fleet.
| Product | Cost | Notes |

According to the Scroll.media interview, Osiris AI earns revenue from three sources: OsirisOS licenses, integration and technical support services, and app store sales. The company says specific commercial pricing will be announced after the official product launch. Component prices in the table were taken from store.osirisai.com at the time of writing (September 2026) and may change.
Not for individual users: There is no self-service trial and no public pricing for the operating system.
Osiris AI offers an intuitive approach to a complex problem. Instead of every drone maker writing its own software, a shared operating system with an app store could speed up hardware integration and the rollout of AI features, much as Android and iOS did for phones. Its onboard AI processing, support for a wide range of vehicles and hardware, and testing with Ukrainian manufacturers are all worth noting.
That said, this is a platform for businesses and specialist organizations, mostly in defense and security, not an AI tool that everyday users can download and try. Pricing isn't public yet, and many performance claims still need time to be independently verified. If you work in unmanned systems manufacturing or follow how AI is being applied to robotics and drones, Osiris AI is a name worth watching.
