Lead the generation, review, and refinement of bring-up and validation plans for Marvell’s products. Manage project goals, contribute to product strategy based on business strategy, including planning, staffing, managing expenses, and resource allocation. Guide teams and professional individuals within the Validation team. Execute functional business plans and contribute to the development of functional strategies through independent decision-making. Collaborate with technical leaders to establish strategic programs, budgets, and objectives, ensuring goals are met within cost constraints. Apply subject matter expertise, knowledge of cross-functional areas, and leadership skills. Oversee the silicon validation lab infrastructure. Work closely with direct reports, chip designers, and system engineers to validate and identify bugs in the Marvell’s products rigorously. Focus primarily on managerial responsibilities, providing technical and professional guidance. Make key decisions in talent management, such as hiring, assessing, rewarding, retaining, and developing employees towards validation milestones. Be actively involved in their daily activities, including coding, lab work, and code reviews. Manage a distributed workforce across multiple global locations, reporting to the higher manager or business unit. Foster a culture of innovation and accountability through strong leadership. Interact with validation and other functional teams in the U.S. and other locations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Engage with customers and vendors as needed.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with 8 - 10 years or more of relevant work experience, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 6 – 8 years or more of relevant work experience. 10+ years of technical silicon validation experience, preferably in the area of SERDES and high-speed interface design, and experience in system marginality validation. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a project lead or 2 years in an engineering management role. Knowledge in SERDES modeling techniques. Experience in software programming languages development: C/C++, Python, etc., to develop test scripts, as well as mathematical programming such as Matlab. Skilled in reviewing PCB schematics and the ability to debug PCBs is a major plus. Knowledge of wireline communication theory and physical layer specifications such as IEEE 802.3 and Common Electrical Interface is a major plus. Knowledge of high-speed I/O, Transceiver, Transmitter, or Receiver is a major plus. Detailed, working knowledge of lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, BERTs, etc.) and solid lab techniques. Good personal communication skills and a team-working spirit. Hardworking and motivated to be part of a highly competent team. Proven leadership and problem-solving skills focusing on uncompromised quality, innovation, and continuous learning and improvement. Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills and the ability to work in a global team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
