Live Payments is seeking a talented, experienced Data Engineer to join our growing, multi-national team. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the systems and infrastructure that enable the processing, collection, storage, and analysis of large volumes of data. Core duties include: - Collecting data from various sources. Streamlining data collection methods to create automated and easy-to-use routines. - Analyze collected data and put it into a format others can easily interpret. - Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements. - Collaborating with other team members, including engineers and programmers, to determine areas for improvement regarding data. - Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data. - Proactively analyze data to answer critical questions for stakeholders, with an eye on what drives business performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity. - Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting an appropriate combination of methods and tools within the defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution. - Gather, understand, and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques. - Ensuring data consistency and accuracy through data validation and cleansing techniques. - Build the infrastructure required for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
Key Skills: - Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and working familiarity with various databases. - Experience building and optimizing 'big data' pipelines, architectures and data sets. - Strong SQL or Excel skills, with an aptitude for learning other analytics tools. - Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. - Strong knowledge of business intelligence platforms, developing and updating BI reports, and communicating actionable insights to improve corporate decision-making. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. - High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases. - Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases. - Excellent English skills encompassing writing, reading, speaking, and listening. - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams (both internal and external). Qualifications and Experience: - University Degree Qualified in a Tech or Business field. - 3-4 years of data analysis experience. - IELTS 6.0 or equivalent would be beneficial. - Experience working in the payments and financial services industries.
