C# Problem Solving
As a Software Engineer at FORTNA, you will join our Engineering Application Development Team—a multidisciplinary group of professionals based in Vietnam, The Netherlands, and the United States. This team is responsible for managing, supporting, and developing innovative engineering applications used internally at FORTNA. Among these is Emulate3D, a 3D design tool used to design automated transport systems for the Parcel and D&F industries. This tool is constantly evolving to meet the growing needs of the business. Primary Responsibilities - Develop advanced, configurable 3D models within the Emulate3D platform, utilizing C# programming in Visual Studio. - Interpret engineering data and translate it into programmable engineering rules to enhance application functionality. - Design and develop software tools that extend the Emulate3D platform, including: + Building intuitive and responsive user interfaces using WPF. + Interacting with SQL databases for data management. + Creating seamless integrations and interfaces with other software applications. - Provide ongoing user support. - Collaborate with a small, dynamic software development team consisting of mechanical and software engineers based in The Netherlands and Vietnam. - Work closely with the product owner and business representatives to refine designs and align development efforts with business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. - A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a technical or software-oriented organization. - Strong interest in both engineering and programming. - Extensive programming experience, with a preference for proficiency in C#. - Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. - Proficiency in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills. - Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. - Flexibility to occasionally work shifted hours, particularly during the initial training period.
