Job Overview And Responsibility

The Senior Operations Manager - Japan is responsible for managing business performance of multiple sites through control of staff and equipment, ensuring budgeted targets are achieved and operating standards are adhered to. The role involves (but is not limited to) business development, staff management, financial management, as well as compliance and regulatory work. In addition, the Senior Operations Manager - Japan will participate in the development and roll-out of various business endeavors across Japan, helping to identify, curate and open new site opportunities, including supporting with site visits, identifying & developing teams, leading and supporting the roll-out strategies. Key areas of responsibilities: ● Business Development ○ Identify and propose new business opportunities within Japan, negotiating contract terms in liaison with the President Asia Operations, and scale business operations in accordance to business growth objectives ○ Engage with park management, and maintain strong relationships with all partners ● Staff Management ○ To oversee HBL managers and ensure that parks are run efficiently and delivering maximum profitability. ○ Support site managers with staffing policies in line with company processes to ensure they have both adequate and suitable numbers of staff. ○ Recruitment and Manpower management ○ Provide mentorship and training ○ Support site managers by means of performance management as necessary. ○ Assist with disciplinary investigations/hearings as needed ● Operations ○ Ensure efficient day to day running of all Games operations ○ Liaise with park management in relation to any feedback to address them in a speedy manner and escalate as necessary. ○ Working with your management team and Central Support, ensuring that ample stock lines and levels are maintained. ○ Ensure that the team maintains accurate reconciliation and handling of all stock in a safe and secure manner and operates at maximum efficiency ● Financial Management ○ Preparing, reviewing and reporting on budgets and expenditure ○ Provide monthly reports for all sites as required. ○ Reviewing and controlling costs in alignment with budgets ● Compliance & Regulatory ○ Ensure all sites comply with all statutory requirements (e.g. health and safety/employment law). ○ Undertake audits of your sites ensuring that they comply with all internal processes in relation to Finance, Purchasing, HR/Staffing matters and ensure training is put in place where required. ○ To ensure implemented Loss Prevention initiatives and policies are adhered to, and effectively utilized to mitigate security and operational risk inherent to business activities ○ Liaise with Central Support to ensure that administrative issues do not hamper operational performance. ○ To put action plans in place for improvement if required

Required Skills and Experience

● Diploma or University Degree in business related subject or equivalent ● Extensive experience (10+ years) in managing a tourist attraction (amusement parks or arcade) as General Manager or Sr Operations Manager or similar positions. ● Rich experience in working in a multi-site environment ● Fluency in Japanese and English ● Solid people management skills ● Strong negotiation skills ● Business acumen ● Knowledge of basic financial reporting ● Strong organizational skills ● Strong IT skills (MS Office) ● Ability to multitask ● Excellent communication skills ● Confident and outgoing personality ● Self-directed with a high degree of self motivation ● High attention to detail ● Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously ● Creative thinker and problem solver
