Chief Accountant

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Chief Accountant to be based in our Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam office. The Chief Accountant reports to the Regional Finance team and will support the full spectrum of accounting, finance and compliance activities in Vietnam. General ledger: - Maintain a VAS compliant accounting system. - Perform accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing for a full set of accounts of the Company. - Maintain / bridge 2 sets of books in VAS and IFRS. - Support migration to a new accounting system for FY2023. Accounts Payable/Receivable - Review and verify employee claims, vendor invoices against stated Group policies and local tax requirements. - Ensure accuracy of payments executed from bank portals. - Work with a regional merchant operations team to validate merchant orders and raise tax invoices. - Monitor outstanding receivables based on Group credit terms and proactively reduce accounts receivable days. Leadership and Business Partnering: - Business Partner for cross-functional stakeholders (eg. HR, commercial, operations). - Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting functions within Vietnam Finance team - Provide guidance to the Vietnam Finance team where required. Tax and corporate: - Liaise with external tax agents to ensure accurate and timely reporting for monthly VAT, WHT, annual income tax returns. - Liaise with external tax agents and tax authority to discuss any potential tax matters that may affect the Company. - Liaise with local auditors to ensure the timely completion of local statutory audits. - Maintain registers and corporate records as required.
