Job Overview And Responsibility
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to strengthen our platform's core services, database operations, and infrastructure automation. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of a distributed data intelligence product used by major enterprises. Key Responsibilities Database Engineering ● Design and implement scalable database solutions using CockroachDB and OpenSearch ● Optimize database performance and query execution in distributed environments ● Implement data replication and sharding strategies for multi-region deployments ● Work on database migration strategies and schema evolution ● Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery procedures ● Maintain robust backup and recovery workflows Infrastructure and DevOps Support ● Build and maintain containerized infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes ● Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions ● Implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible ● Create automated tests for infrastructure components ● Collaborate with DevOps to improve system reliability and reduce operational overhead ● Establish robust monitoring and alerting across the stack Platform Infrastructure Support ● Support core services written in Python and Golang ● Conduct performance profiling and infrastructure optimization ● Improve infrastructure for ETL pipelines and data workflows ● Contribute to service mesh configurations for microservices ● Guide developers on database and infrastructure decisions Process Improvement ● Streamline build and deployment processes ● Integrate automated security and code quality checks in CI/CD ● Develop developer-friendly tooling and local test environments ● Document infrastructure patterns and share best practices ● Help define and track SLOs/SLIs for platform reliability
Required Skills and Experience
Required ● 6+ years in backend development with a focus on infrastructure and databases ● Experience with distributed databases like CockroachDB or PostgreSQL ● Proficiency in Python and/or Golang ● Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes in production ● Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) ● Expertise in database tuning and optimization ● Familiarity with search engines like OpenSearch or Elasticsearch ● Experience with data processing/ETL pipelines ● Strong knowledge of distributed systems
