Job Overview And Responsibility

Job Purpose • The Senior Expert, Application in the IT Division will play a key role in setting up, developing, and optimizing application systems for a newly established life insurance company. • This role will focus on designing and implementing core insurance applications, ensuring seamless integration with distribution platforms, underwriting, claims, and policy administration systems. • The Senior Expert will work closely with business teams, Techcombank, IT vendors, and third-party technology partners to ensure that digital solutions align with business needs, regulatory requirements, and customer experience expectations. Key Responsibilities Application Development & System Implementation • Define business and technical requirements for core insurance applications, ensuring alignment with operational and business needs. • Lead the development and configuration of application systems supporting underwriting, new business, claims, and policy administration. • Ensure application scalability, performance, and security in compliance with industry best practices and regulations. Collaboration with Techcombank & Business Units • Work closely with Techcombank’s IT team to integrate insurance applications with the bank’s ecosystem for a seamless digital experience. • Engage with business units, including underwriting, claims, and new business, to ensure that application functionalities support business processes effectively. • Define API and data integration requirements between the insurance company and Techcombank to enable efficient policy processing. Third-Party Vendor & Technology Partner Management • Collaborate with IT vendors, core insurance system providers, and insurtech partners to develop and implement application solutions. • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs). • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance application functionalities. Digital Transformation & Automation • Drive the automation of business processes within application systems to enhance efficiency and reduce manual operations. • Work with IT and digital teams to implement AI and machine learning solutions for underwriting, claims processing, and customer service. • Ensure digital platforms and applications provide a seamless, user-friendly experience for customers and distribution partners. Application Governance & Security • Ensure application compliance with data privacy regulations, cybersecurity best practices, and internal IT governance policies. • Define application security requirements and work with IT security teams to implement robust protection measures. • Establish monitoring and control mechanisms to track application performance and address potential risks. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure application system efficiency, uptime, and user experience. • Analyze application usage data to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements. • Ensure applications continuously evolve to support business expansion and regulatory changes.

Required Skills and Experience

Education • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in IT application development and implementation, preferably within the life insurance industry. • Strong experience in setting up application systems for underwriting, claims, new business, and policy administration. • Proven ability to work with IT vendors, system integrators, and third-party technology providers. • Experience integrating core insurance applications with banking and financial services platforms is preferred. • Track record of working in a startup or new business setup environment, building IT capabilities from the ground up. Skills & Competencies • Application Development & IT Systems – Strong expertise in core insurance applications and enterprise IT architecture. • Digital Transformation & Automation – Experience in implementing AI, machine learning, and automation in insurance applications. • Stakeholder & Third-Party Management – Strong skills in engaging with Techcombank, business teams, and IT vendors. • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge – Familiarity with IT governance, cybersecurity, and data privacy regulations in the insurance industry. • Process Optimization & System Integration – Expertise in API and data integration between insurance platforms and external systems.
