1. Dairy Product Innovation & Development - Lead ideation and formulation of new dairy products - Improve and renovate the current product portfolio to meet evolving consumer preferences and nutritional trends. - Ensure sensory, nutritional, microbiological, and functional criteria are met during development. - Coordinate lab-scale and pilot trials, and support scale-up at production sites. 2. Regulatory Affairs & Product Registration a. Vietnam Market: - Ensure all dairy products comply with local food safety laws - Oversee the preparation of technical documentation and liaise with regulatory bodies for product declaration and approval. - Maintain records of product specifications and compliance certificates. b. International Market: - Ensure all export products comply with importing country regulations (e.g., BPOM Indonesia, FDA Philippines). - Prepare technical documents: ingredient lists, nutritional facts, labels (multi-language), shelf-life data. - Coordinate with local consultants, distributors, and regulatory agencies to obtain approvals on time. - Ensure products meet halal standards where required. 3. Packaging Development - Develop suitable primary and secondary packaging for Liquid and semi-liquid dairy, food, and beverages. - Validate packaging compatibility with product (shelf life, safety, machine efficiency). - Collaborate with Marketing and Procurement to ensure packaging meets brand and cost objectives. 4. BOM (Bill of Materials) Management - Build accurate and complete BOMs for each SKU, reflecting raw materials, packaging, yields, and processing costs. - Coordinate with Supply Chain and Finance to ensure cost transparency and cost optimization in BOM. - Update BOMs upon any formulation or packaging changes. 5. Quality & Compliance Support - Work closely with QA/QC to define product standards, specifications, and shelf-life validation protocols. - Support the root cause analysis of product quality issues and implement corrective actions. 6. Team Management & Development - Lead and coach a team of R&D specialists and packaging engineers. - Set clear objectives, review performance, and foster technical skill development. - Promote a culture of scientific curiosity, speed to market, and continuous improvement. 7. Cross-functional Collaboration - Partner with Marketing, Sales, Production, Supply Chain, Finance, QA, and QC to ensure successful project delivery. - Provide technical support during product launches, consumer testing, and production runs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Food Engineering, or related disciplines. - Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D roles in the dairy or beverage industry. - In-depth knowledge of dairy processing, functional ingredients, and regulatory frameworks. - Strong understanding of product lifecycle, from R&D to commercialization. - Familiar with packaging technologies like Tetra Pak, Ecolean, pouch systems, etc. - Proficient in formulation software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP for BOM). -Strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional coordination skills. - Good communication in both English and Vietnamese.
