Job Overview And Responsibility
- Identify and qualify growth opportunities: new markets (countries/regions), customer segments (e-commerce, retail, manufacturing), and new services (FTL/LTL, customs clearance, warehousing) - Build and manage partnerships with agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and 3PL operators; negotiate and execute agency and service agreements - Generate leads and manage long-cycle pipelines through cold outreach, email, LinkedIn, trade shows, and referrals - Prepare commercial proposals and rate calculations; negotiate tariffs, terms, and SLAs; participate in tenders - Work with sales, operations, finance, and legal to launch pilots and new initiatives - Deliver market analysis, competitor landscape, segment capacity and penetration reports, and ROI of initiatives; present findings to management - Launch new routes and services, evaluate results, and adjust strategy to scale
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven BD or sales experience (5+ years of experience) in freight forwarding, with deep expertise in at least one of: LCL, railway, or container shipments - Hands-on knowledge of trade lanes from Asia to the USA, Germany/EU, or Latin America - Existing network of agents, carriers, or customers in those regions - Track record of closing and managing long-cycle B2B deals - Strong rate calculation, tariff negotiation, and commercial proposal skills - Fluent English and Vietnamese/Thai
