Job Overview And Responsibility

• The Senior Principal Developer of Digital Platforms Services is responsible for successfully delivering a project of Digital Platforms within Sun Life Vietnam. He/She will be required to make technical decisions and work closely with cross functional business areas and all other IT teams including Regional Office and Corporate teams. Additionally, He/She will assume a leadership role in selecting, testing and rolling out new technologies • This role will be also responsible for people training and driving the developer team the continuous evolution and improvement of Sun Life’s digital transformation. This role will drive the transformation to the next generation digital technologies with close alignment with the architecture, application and security teams to drive adoption and improve Application Security Practice and Control. • Besides, this role also support the CIO and Head of Digital Platforms Services to build advanced digital platforms, increase automatic operation capabilities, and create a breakthrough competitive advantage in the market. Major accountabilities: Technical leadership 20% • Provide technical leadership of the units • Build strategic direction for teammates, vision and roadmap for Digital Platform transformation • Up to date on market trends to explore how emerging technologies can benefit the company, and decide the most suitable migration plan from existing technologies • Work closely with IT team leaders to ensure effective cross-functionality that provide improvements and keeps pace with current trends of the industry. Resourcefulness 20% • Effective stakeholder and change management to ensure new technologies are effectively adopted • Handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively to ensure changing business needs and regulations/guidelines are fulfilled while driving products quickly to market • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Build a High-Performing Team 10% • Create a standardized training methodology for developers with clear techniques • Establishes, manages and coaches team to achieve challenging objectives and performance expectations • Establish clear, measurable KPIs to monitor and improve team efficiency and effectiveness • Serves as a role model by demonstrating a commitment to company values, high performance standards, workplace diversity, and driving results Innovation 10% • Thinks “out of the box” and develops creative solutions to complex technical and digital paltform problems • Review existing work processes and identify new ways of working and/or improvements to have continuous efficiency improvements • Continuously study, assess new technologies and identify the most suitable technologies with reference to the technology trend and competitors Delivery and maintenance 40% • Ensure technology platforms are cost-effective and responsible for operating efficiently within limited resources • Deliver new solutions to align to modernization plan of Digital Platform Services • Participate in estimating, planning, and implementing projects • Conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level, focusing on product deliverable, improving code quality of systems • Stay up to date with customer needs and strategies to optimize business expectations, promptly resolving any defects and have a quick recovery plan in every situation • Analysis to detect system vulnerabilities that need to be prioritized for fixing

Required Skills and Experience

Technical skills: o Applying for Backend development ▪ Proficient and hands on with Spring boot deployment ▪ Strong knowledge of ORM tool (Hibernate, JPA, ActiveMQ etc.) ▪ Strong knowledge of nosql database and relation database, specifically SQL Server, PostgreSQL... ▪ Familiar with cloud solutions like AWS serverless (Step Functions, Lambda, Dynamo DB...) o Applying for Frontend development ▪ Proficient and hands on with ReactJS / Angular / Ionic ▪ Strong in UI design patterns o Applying for Salesforce development ▪ A deep understanding and mastery of the Salesforce ecosystem, proficient and hands on with Salesforce deployment ▪ Strong experience developing applications on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Visualforce and other technologies ▪ Strong experience developing the Salesforce, Data model, CRM, Lead management, Automation process o Strong knowledge of software development process, methodologies, test-driven development o Strong knowledge in application architecture, design patterns o Strong knowledge of web services (Restful, JSON, Soap) o Strong knowledge in DevOps tools, K8s and CICD practices (source control e.g. Git, Bitbucket, SVN, Jira, Jenkins ...) Soft skills: o Problem solving o Critical thinking o Planning o Coaching o Embraces a culture of trust and complete transparency o Promotes free thought and is energized by ideas from others in team o Brave and rebellious, willing to challenge status quo o English Conversation Education and experience • University degree in IT or equivalent • At least 2 years experience as a technical team leader at the exception level • At least 6 years experience in delivery and maintenance of application platforms by using advanced technology • Good communication in both English and Vietnamese Behavioural Skills • Strong sense of ownership and accountability • Be a strong agent for change/transformation. • Be able to facilitate new processes and standards that could impact working environment / culture • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, self-motivated and deadline driven • Strong customer service orientation • Goal oriented, and be able to work with other teams to achieve goals • Take a broad organizational view when solving problems. • Build and maintain influential relationships with senior management (both Technology and business). Actively participates in industry-related seminars and workshop.
