Job Overview And Responsibility
We are seeking a Hull Outfitting Engineer to support detailed design and production engineering for shipbuilding projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing hull outfitting design and production drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting shipyard construction activities. Responsibilities. - Prepare detailed design and production drawings for hull outfitting items including ladders, handrails, platforms, access openings, gratings, and equipment foundations. - Develop fabrication drawings and installation details to support shipyard production. - Coordinate with other disciplines such as Hull Structure, Piping, HVAC, Electrical, and Insulation to ensure proper design integration. - Review vendor drawings and equipment installation requirements. - Support preparation of lifting and turning arrangements for blocks and major equipment where required. - Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, shipyard standards, and classification society rules. - Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and coordination meetings with internal teams and clients. - Provide technical support during construction, installation, and issue resolution at shipyards. - Deliver assigned tasks in accordance with project schedule and quality requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. - From 3-5 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding or offshore design. - Familiar with classification society rules and shipyard production practices. - Good command of spoken and written English.
