Job Overview And Responsibility

This document describes a senior technical leadership position for our data team. This role is for experienced professionals with 4-6+ years of experience who can handle both technical work and project management Project Management & Delivery - Lead complete data projects including infrastructure, AI services, APIs, and integrations - Define project requirements, timelines, and success criteria - Manage project risks, dependencies, and resource allocation - Make sure projects are delivered on time with good quality - Work with different teams and stakeholders Technical Leadership & Integration - Design and oversee complex data system integrations - Give technical guidance to data engineers and DevOps team members - Review and approve technical architectures and design decisions - Help solve complex technical problems and guide solutions - Make sure data platforms are scalable, performant, and reliable Team Management & Development - Push engineering teams to meet deadlines while helping them grow - Do technical code reviews and architecture discussions - Mentor junior team members on best practices and GenAI usage - Build a culture of continuous learning and improvement Documentation & Process Management - Set up and maintain good documentation standards - Create and update technical specs, runbooks, and process documents - Manage task logging, progress tracking, and reporting systems - Make sure all team members follow documentation practices - Keep architectural diagrams and system documentation updated GenAI Integration & Innovation - Lead the use of GenAI tools across all project phases - Evaluate and implement new AI tools to improve team productivity - Train team members on effective GenAI usage and best practices - Drive innovation in AI-assisted development and project management

Required Skills and Experience

- Education: Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical field - Experience: 4-6+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or technical project management - Leadership: Proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering complex data projects Core Skills Required: GenAI Proficiency (CRITICAL): Must use genAI tools daily for the last 6+ months - Expert with Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Claude, Napkin, and other AI tools - Use genAI for project planning, technical docs, code review, architecture design, requirements, and team coordination - Train and guide team members on how to use GenAI effectively Clear Communication & Delivery Mindset (CRITICAL): - Excellent communication with strong commitment to on-time delivery - Explain complex projects, technical stacks, problems, and solutions clearly to everyone - Be completely transparent and identify issues early - raise concerns well before deadlines, no surprises - When you commit to deadlines (e.g., June 15 for Task A), deliver exactly on time with full accountability - Take full responsibility for completing tasks and delivering projects successfully - Give realistic time estimates, manage expectations, and keep everyone updated on progress Project Management & Leadership: - Strong PMO-style skills for managing data projects - Gather requirements, manage timelines, allocate resources - Push engineering teams to deliver on time while maintaining quality - Track projects, manage risks, and communicate with stakeholders Technical Architecture & Integration: - Deep knowledge of how data systems work together - Design and explain complex technical implementations - Guide data engineers on specific technical approaches - Understand how different data components connect and integrate Documentation & Standards: Create and enforce documentation standards - All team documentation is in English - Set up documentation frameworks and make sure team follows them - Write technical specs, architecture diagrams, and process docs - Review and improve existing documentation Active Learning & Adaptability: Always learning and adapting to new things - Eager to learn and use new AI tools and methods - Stay up-to-date with data engineering trends and best practices - Quickly adapt to new technologies and frameworks
