Job Overview And Responsibility
Join Microsoft's Windows & Devices Group supporting Surface product development at Wicresoft's Hai Phong facility. This is a Design Verification/Qualification role focused on reliability engineering for consumer electronics hardware — NOT a testing lab position. You'll work directly with Microsoft's US Reliability teams, ODM partners, and component vendors on failure analysis, corrective actions, and supplier qualification for laptops, tablets, and wearables. Design Qualification & Reliability Management • Manage multiple design qualification activities and development schedules to improve product quality • Collaborate with US Reliability teams to develop and document reliability qualification plans for new Surface products • Work with ODM/OEM manufacturing partners and component vendors to perform failure analysis and drive corrective actions Supplier & Vendor Management • Participate in component vendor selection and drive qualification activities for critical/strategic components • Develop suppliers to establish On-Going Reliability (OGR) testing for mass production monitoring • Provide reliability guidance to contract manufacturers for release-to-manufacture and lab qualifications Technical Analysis & Problem Solving • Evaluate effectiveness of reliability stress tests and resolve product reliability issues • Understand technology, materials, and failure mechanisms for electronic/electro-mechanical components • Use process capability knowledge to establish Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) performance metrics • Apply statistical analysis (Minitab, Weibull) for reliability data
Required Skills and Experience
Education & Experience ✓ Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Optics, Semiconductor Packaging, or related field ✓ 5-10 years total work experience ✓ Minimum 3 years in reliability engineering or hardware design verification/validation ✓ Experience in RE design verification/qualification (NOT just reliability testing execution) ✓ Good English (written and verbal) — MANDATORY for US team collaboration Industry Background (at least one) ✓ Consumer Electronics OEM/ODM: Quanta, Compal, Wistron, Foxconn, Pegatron, Inventec ✓ Global Tech Hardware: Microsoft, Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Google ✓ Component Manufacturers: LCD/OLED, battery, semiconductor packaging, NAND, acoustic, thermal, structural parts ✓ Industries: Laptop/2-in-1/tablet, wearables, audio devices, automotive electronics, home appliances

Preferred skills and experiences
✓ Power BI or data analytics skills ✓ Experience working in Vietnam or overseas manufacturing environments ✓ Background in: CMF (Color, Material, Finish), optics, memory/NAND, semiconductor packaging ✓ DQA (Design Quality Assurance) or DVT (Design Verification Test) experience Technical Skills ✓ Solid experience in hardware test verification and validation ✓ Failure analysis (FA) capability ✓ Strong statistical analysis skills (Minitab or Weibull tools) ✓ Understanding of major component reliability: displays, batteries, fabrics/materials, speakers, packaging Language & Soft Skills ✓ Strong communication and collaboration across technical teams ✓ High adaptability to work with diverse technical backgrounds
